THE TUCKERBERRY HILL STORY

Hi, we’re Christine and Dave, the owners and operators of Tuckerberry Hill.

The blueberry farm was originally established in 1976 by my parents as one of the first berry farms of its kind in Victoria. They were so successful that they founded the Australian Blueberry Growers Association. They have survived drought and starling infestations and are true blueberry farming pioneers!

Fast forward 40 years and we’re still the only Blueberry u-pick farm on the Bellarine Peninsula. We’ve expanded to include Strawberries over the years and plan to offer stone fruit in the future too!

The traditional farming practices we use ensure a quality product is produced every year.

While this region isn’t particularly suited to growing Blueberries. 40 years ago Grandma Tucker was told, “You have a 50/50 chance of being successful with growing blueberries here”… but she liked those odds. We’ve managed over the years to implement advanced watering systems and cultivate the soil in growing zones so that we produce quality fruit. You might even say we’re pioneers in this regard!

Chris and I love sharing our knowledge of running a berry farm. Schools around the region can visit Tuckerberry Hill as an educational program where they will learn all about our approach to Agriculture including Berry Production and how we generate enough water to support our farm.

We pride ourselves on using minimal sprays, which means our berries are free of any harmful chemicals. It means you just have to keep an eye out for creepy crawlies while you’re filling your buckets with our beautiful berries.

Every year we have 15,000 visitors to the farm to pick juicy sweet and organic berries. The best time to visit and fill your bucket is during the warmer months from November through to March.

We see our farm as a place for the community to come together and enjoy local produce, artistry, learn about berry production and relax in a family-friendly atmosphere.

There’s loads of space for the kids to wander about and an adventure play area for the littlies making it the perfect place for a unique and unforgettable kids birthday party ~ plus everyone gets to take home a bucket of berries!

Our produce market provides customers with the opportunity to sample or purchase from other local providoors and see the latest works of art from our creative friends in the region at our purpose-built mini art gallery.

For those looking to enjoy a long lunch at the farm, our onsite cafe offers strong coffee, milkshakes, wine, or our very own Berry Beer. All can be enjoyed on our famous BBQ lunches held every Saturday afternoon.

And no visit to Tuckerberry Hill Farm is complete without trying our most popular treat, our delicious homemade blueberry ice cream!

So next time you’re on the Bellarine Peninsula, make sure you stop in and say ‘hi’, we’d love to see you and your family at Tuckerberry Hill Farm.
